Every character in Slap City has various costumes and recolors to choose from that change their appearance. Some costumes are just a change of clothes, while others turn them into completely different characters. Costumes alter the character visually, but have no impact on gameplay.
Each character has three costumes total, except for Cruiser Tetron and Orka. The third costume must be unlocked by completing that character's Story Mode timeline. Costumes have 6 colors by default, and each character can unlock an additonal 2 colors for their 1st and 2nd costumes by collecting paint cans () in Story Mode. Fishbunjin can unlock an additional 2 colors from Story Mode. Frallan, Cruiser Tetron and Orka’a costumes and colors are unlocked from the start, since they do not have Story Mode timelines.
There is a cheat code to unlock all costumes. To use it, input one of the following commands on the Story Mode controller picking screen:
- Switch/GameCube controller: hold L and press Y, X, X, Y, X, Y, Y, R, Y, X
- Xbox controller: hold LT and press X, Y, Y, X, Y, X, X, RT, X, Y
- Keyboard: hold F3 and press C, V, V, C, V, C, C, N, C, V

Masked Ruby's old 2nd recolor.
Masked Ruby's old 4th recolor.
Fishbunjin's old 4th recolor.
Remedy's old 6th recolor, before it became Devil Remedy.
A proposed third costume for Remedy taken from a Steam Card for Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt. Was replaced with Princess Amelia due to skirts not functioning well with her animations.
Trivia
- Barring the classic skins of the Princess Remedy characters, Ittle's 7th skin is the only skin to have a significantly different portrait from the other skins, as it is taken straight from the first Ittle Dew game.
- Old Ittle, Dark Masked Ruby, Masked Jenny Cat, Manbunjin, and Devil Remedy all appear as cards in Card City Nights 2.
- It was implied in War Queen's arcade mode ending in earlier versions of the game that she was a mortal blessed with power by Goddess of Explosions. Later updates changed her ending to talk about her successful novel and movie career instead.
