Asha is a playable character in Slap City. He is an elite Komato Assassin from Iji who has only one arm.

Physical description

Being a Komato, Asha has a vaguely humanoid (and well-toned) body structure, albeit with blue skin and a purple bird-like head with shiny, angular eyes. Notably, he's missing his right arm, which he lost after he accidentally teleported it into a wall. The sides of his head have black protrusions that somewhat resemble communicators or feathers. He wears a black waistband, socks, arm-band, and short sleeves, along with purple pants. He wields a laser-sword in his intact arm with a backhand grip.

Playstyle

Asha's teleport ability allows him to cover distance in an instant, making him able to approach unpredictably, or extend combos far into the blastzones. He can out-space and keep his opponents at bay using his far-reaching attacks. His low weight and high gravity leave him vulnerable to combos and juggles.

Appearances

Iji

Asha is one of several bosses in Iji. He is an arrogant assassin who mocks Iji and tries to take her out to have the honor as the one who's taken out 'The Human Anomaly'. He is first encountered in Stage 5 and makes multiple appearances trying to sabotage or stop Iji from reaching Tor. His obsession is noted by other assassins.

He is fought again at the last stage where he fights Iji to the death. Due to the game's checkpoint system he can engaged up to three times, with the third time requiring some clever backtracking. If Iji encounters Asha a third time within the same playthrough he goes berserk and is set to the highest difficulty setting. His fight can also be skipped which prompts a unique dialogue that confirms that Asha had blown himself up out of shame.

Card City Nights series

Asha only appears as cards in both titles. He stars on an uncommon attack card in the first title, and as a rare card that moves randomly across the board and deals 1 damage when resolved.

Easter eggs & secrets

  • Taunt can spike opponents hanging on the ledge. It can be jump-canceled on hit.
  • If you stand still for a few seconds, Asha starts using his communicator.
  • If taunt is held while performing down strong, he will instead throw out a Jums or Bemp depending on which direction he's facing (Jums if left; Bemp if right).

Trivia

  • Asha is voiced by Ola Holmdahl in Iji.
  • Ansaksie's win quote against herself is the only win quote that was changed in an update. Before Version 1.1, the line was "Did I just fight myself? I've had too many hot drinks."
    • For whatever reason, the same update also displays nothing when she beats Frallan, Nuna or Bees.
      • Atavist also says nothing towards Bees.
